…so enjoy another lily.
I do have things to say but they are all jumbled in my mind. I’ll be back…I think. : )
I hope y’all don’t get tired of all my flower shots. I don’t get tired of taking them. Which is why I always have one to show…so it seems. This week’s challenge is “close”. It didn’t take me long to remember this photo I took just a few days ago. All the lilies started blooming around here at once. I went to the side yard to check on the tiger lilies–one of my favorites–only to find they didn’t bloom well this year. They barely lifted themselves from the ground at all. I was shocked by how “close” this particular bloom was to the earth…far from the tall, regal stature one expects from this flower. But she is still a beauty. A little lily.
I think she wanted to be a water-lily in this blooming life.
Isn’t she a cutie?
Have a great weekend!!
I was going to do a whole series of photos for this post that captured everything I did today. I started the day by stopping for breakfast and coffee. I then went to an art fair (where I found two new photographic art pieces)…then a sewing machine repair shop…then a consignment shop…then a shoe repair shop…and another….then a drugstore for ibuprofen (BAD headache)…then Cartridge World….then Starbucks…then Aldis…then home. I took pictures of most of it and decided they weren’t very good. It was going to be a “day in the life” type of post. Instead I will showcase some pictures I took of my flowers. I got really excited to see that my lilies are starting to open…this is the first one:
Then I wondered how my newly planted tuberous begonias were faring:
Not bad. While out, I picked some leaves off the hostas to put in the mason jar “vase” so that my roses from Aldis would look better:
I found a few mason jars yesterday at Goodwill so I can try the DIY I re-blogged .
It was a packed Saturday…and not over yet (neither is the headache). And tomorrow we are having a cookout chez moi with some friends. I hope your weekend is going swell too.
This week the theme is “arranged”. I thought about submitting something that was “arranged” by nature or by someone else. Instead I decided on the following two arrangements:
I arranged these stones to read “beach” thinking I would print and frame the photo for my beach themed family room. I never did.
I love getting fresh flowers from either Trader Joe’s or Aldis. I think I have always had my best rose blooms from Aldis….$3.99 a half-dozen–go figure. The above hydrangea(s) were bought at Trader Joe’s and this is how I arranged them for the foyer table.
Don’t forget to check out other “arranged” photos for this week’s challenge.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you on Visible Monday.
Here is another “flower” offering. Redneck Princess said I could. And since I have NO TIME to write about anything else, at least you will all know I am still alive and kickin’.
If I could have a fresh bouquet of these every week–color me deliriously happy! (the sister photo is on my “about” page)
Hope your week is going well! I will be having lots to say soon about life as I know it…soon.
Oh my. Flowers is the theme this week. This could be a problem. HOW CAN I PICK JUST ONE FLOWER PICTURE? I really do not think it is possible. I have so many pictures of flowers on my hard-drive. If my computer ever crashes it will be from flower overload. OK…if I am picking just one here it is:
WordPress, could we do this theme again? Please….
